Sketchbook Recall Press Release
We at eeBoo are dedicated to providing you with the highest quality products to engage and entertain children. We therefore want to notify you of a potential safety risk involving eight styles of our sketchbooks, and our plan to address and resolve this issue. The affected 8.5” x11.5” styles are: “Drawing Birds” “Nature,” “Garden Party,” “Up in the Tree,” “Nemo with Princess in Balloon,” “Butterflies,” and “Princess and Butterflies.” An earlier, larger version (10”x14”) of Princess and Butterflies is also being recalled. Future versions of this product will have safety tested plain metal coils. Please note that sketchbooks with plain metal coils and other styles of sketchbooks with colored coils are not affected, and are not part of the recall. Safety tests that we conducted indicate that some of the colored coils on these products may contain higher than acceptable lead levels. Although no report of any injury or illness has been received, we have voluntarily notified the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and have agreed upon a course of action to remedy the situation. If you have purchased an eeBoo Sketchbook since April of 2005 we ask that you immediately remove the sketchbook from your children, remove the sticker from the back of the pad, and discard the sketchbook. Return the sticker to eeBoo in exchange for a new sketchbook. To get a replacement for an affected sketchbook, consumers and retailers can mail their Sketchbook UPC label to: eeBoo -Please include your name, address and how you find out about the recall.
